Balloon Sizes & Inflation Guide

Getting ready for your celebration? Use this guide to check balloon size, choose between helium and air, and plan when to inflate your balloons.

Balloon size

Our latex party balloons measure 12 inches when inflated. Balloons arrive flat and uninflated. Check your chosen product listing for its design, available colors, and set sizes.

Helium or air?

• Helium: use helium for a floating balloon bouquet. Typical float time is 8–12 hours, so plan to inflate on the day of your party. Temperature and conditions can affect float time.
• Air: use air for balloons attached to a backdrop, garland, or supported display. Air-filled balloons do not float and can last several days or longer.

Balloon quality

Our balloons are made from natural latex and professionally screen printed. They are tested for holes during production. The chart below explains our balloon quality and inflation options; the pictured design is an example, not the design included with every order.

Before you order

Choose the design, color, and set size on the product page. Your cart quantity counts sets: ordering two sets of three gives you six balloons. For Vintage designs, check that the printed birth year is the one you want.

Balloon safety

Choking hazard: Children under 8 can choke or suffocate on uninflated or broken balloons. Adult supervision required. Keep uninflated balloons away from children. Discard broken balloons immediately.

Latex allergy: Contains natural rubber latex. May cause allergic reactions in sensitive individuals.
